With growing concern about skin cancers caused by excessive exposure to the sun, it's important to insist on the maximum SPF (sun protection factor) when buying sun shelters.

That's why Paha Que' Wilderness Inc. uses 150 Denier polyester oxford for their Cottonwood Shade Shelter. The fabric also has a fire-retardant and is coated with polyurethane waterproofing and UV inhibitor.

To verify their confidence in this fabric, Paha Que' submitted it to an independent laboratory (Intertek in Springfield, New Jersey) for a series of rigid tests. The results proved that the Shade Shelter blocks out 96.758% of UVA and 99.90% of UVB, and has a cumulative SPF of 50+.

The standard guide for labeling of UV-protective textiles (ASTM D6603) shows the following protection categories:

Good UV Protection 15-24
Very Good UV Protection 25-39
Excellent UV Protection 40 or More

Based on this, the Paha Que' Cottonwood Shade Shelter ensures maximum protection.
